The Computational Biology Research Center (CBRC) was reorganized in April 2007. The Centerกวs aim is to build upon the achievements of its eponymous predecessor, which was principally engaged in research into and development of bioinformatics infrastructural component technologies, with an additional focus on more กศorganicกษ application development. We at the CBRC are engaged in research activities aimed at creating a wide array of industrial technologies using genomes and the other biological information, while at the same time fulfilling our mission as a core facility for bioinformatics research and human resources development in Japan.

Our most important research resource is our people, both the CBRC research staff experts in diverse fields spanning computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology and scientists affiliated with other institutions, with whom we work closely on joint, collaborative projects. Aided by our large-scale, highspeed IT environment, we look to optimize and capitalize on the ability and experience of this great concentration of research talent to ensure research output of the highest quality.

We also seek to achieve seamless integration of our information infrastructure, including internally developed and maintained software applications and databases, with corresponding external resources.
